Restaurants within walking distance:
We are located five blocks from the historical district of McMinnville with plenty of shops, art galleries, restaurants, wineries, and coffee houses within a ten minute walk. Right in town we recommend the following
Bistro Maison , a French Bistro with excellent fare, serving traditional French dishes, wonderful fresh seafood, and utilizing the bountiful produce of the Willamette Valley. Very good wine list, too.
Nick's Italian Cafe , featuring Northern Italian five course dinners and an impressive wine list.
La Rambla , serving hot and cold tapas, paella and other full dinners, local and Spanish wines and a beautiful atmosphere.
Further afield:
The Painted Lady in Newberg, about a 20 minute drive. They serve innovative multi-course dinners in a charmingly restored Victorian setting.
Activities:
Wine tasting of course! Close to the Bed and Breakfast (walking distance) some of our favorites are Walnut City Wineworks, Panther Creek and R. Stuart. There are many other wineries and wine tasting rooms, some open every day and others by appointment only. For a great wine experience, leave the driving to Luxury Wine Tours luxurylimo@comcast.net or Grape Escape www.grapeescapetours.com. You can relax and enjoy the scenery and the inside information provided by your expert driver. An interesting web site for information, phone numbers and locations about wineries in the area is www.yamhillvalley.org
